Study Exchange Spain 2022

CESINE, Santander

As I set off on my journey to Spain last year in January, I had no idea how much I would end up learning and how much my life would change in the coming months. I was embarking on a study exchange to Centro Universitario CESINE, and I was determined to make the most of every opportunity that came my way during my time abroad.

A highlight of my study exchange was exploring the country. I had the opportunity to visit some of Spain’s most beautiful places, including Madrid, Bilbao, and Picos de Europa. Each place had something unique to offer and I was in awe of their breathtaking architecture, vibrant culture, and delicious food. One weekend, my friends and I booked a trip to explore the beautiful island of Mallorca. I even got to surf for the first time in Somo, which was an unforgettable experience.

A week in the life of a CESINE student

My study exchange in Spain was an amazing experience that taught me so much about the culture and language of the country. I had the opportunity to attend classes taught by local professors, making the most of my time there. I was able to learn more about the Spanish language and culture as well as travel to some of the most interesting parts of Spain.

In CESINE, we had 4 courses every week. Every class would last 50 minutes and had mandatory attendance. Some students would even have class until 21:00. In CESINE, they really value particpation in class. Every class would have a lot of interaction or study cases, which would be discussed in group or with the whole classroom. For the international students, this was a great opportunity to get to know the Spanish students.

In addition to attending classes, I also participated in a variety of activities and events that were organized by Erasmus Student Network. I was able to take part in cultural activities such as visits to local museums and historical sites, as well as take trips to some of the best beaches and cities in Spain. I also made lifelong friends during my study exchange. Being in a new country, surrounded by people from all around the world, was an amazing experience. I enjoyed getting to know people from different cultures and backgrounds and I now have friends from all over the world.
